Aloysius Goh, President of SIMC, and Lok Vi Ming, Director of SIMC, visited HAC in the morning of June 27, 2018. Liu Fengquan, Deputy Director and Secretary General and Ms. Li Xuanle, Vice President of Hangzhou International Arbitration Court, met with them.

President Aloysius Goh said SIMC attached great importance to its cooperation with the Belt and Road Initiative, and priority was also given to arbitration and mediation. As China’s investment to overseas and foreign investment to China are both on the rise, but foreign companies still lack understanding of arbitration and mediation in China, SIMC is therefore keen to cooperate with Hangzhou Arbitration Commission (HAC) to better serve Chinese companies.

Liu Fengquan and President Aloysius Goh also discussed the cooperation between SIMC and HAC. Goh made a detailed introduction of training  activities hosted by SIMC and other Chinese arbitration institutions, and discussed with Liu on the specific way in which the SIMC cooperated with HAC to organize training courses, and both sides agreed to send senior lawyers and mediators to give lectures in China and Singapore. They had discussions on organizing forums, collaborative research on arbitration and mediation, and international mediation experience in advanced countries and regions.
